# SYN-FAT-003 Rev A / Synthetic factory acceptance protocol

**SYNTHETIC DEMONSTRATION — fictional engineering records. No employer, customer, real equipment acceptance or supplier engagement is implied.**

Unit: SYN-LC-1000-003, 1 MW liquid-cooling skid

Supplier: SYN-021 · Fictional equipment fabricator

Drawing baseline: SYN-PID-LC1000 Rev B

Design: 1,440 L/min · ≥250 kPa differential pressure · nominal 1 MW duty

## Document control and scope

Rev A is a fictional teaching protocol. Requirements below are scenario-specific assumptions. It is not an approved procedure for operating real equipment. The test lead verifies the unit, configuration, test boundary and fictional calibration register before simulated execution; the acceptance lead reviews evidence and exceptions before simulated sign-off.

## Prerequisites / fictional setup

Water test loop at 20 ±2 °C, controlled recirculation, identified supply/return taps, duty and standby pumps, leak tray/sensor, guarded test bay, calibrated flow/pressure/temperature indications, compensated 10 A continuity tester, configuration record and control sequence. Real lockout, pressure-test risk assessment, witness authority and installation-specific requirements are outside this portfolio demo.

## Requirement / procedure / result register

### FAT-01 / Design flow

Acceptance: **≥1,440 L/min**

Procedure: Run with water at 20 ±2 °C; stabilize for 5 min; record calibrated flow indication at duty point.

Initial result: 1456 L/min. Retest: 1460 L/min. Record: FAT-E01.

Initial evidence: Meter reads 1,456 L/min at stabilized duty point. Fictional calibration current; ±0.5% reading uncertainty recorded.

Retest evidence: Retest reads 1,460 L/min at stabilized duty point; the same test configuration is used.

### FAT-02 / Pump differential pressure

Acceptance: **≥250 kPa at design flow**

Procedure: Measure supply-to-return differential pressure at design flow; record 3 repeat runs and configured pump speed.

Initial result: 195 kPa. Retest: 263 kPa. Record: FAT-E02.

Initial evidence: Three repeat runs: 195, 197 and 194 kPa at design flow. Pump impeller trim differs from the approved build configuration. The result is below the 250 kPa minimum.

Retest evidence: Correct impeller fitted and verified against Rev B BOM. Three repeats: 263, 261 and 264 kPa. Retest witnessed and recorded; fictional gauge uncertainty ±1 kPa.

### FAT-03 / Pressure boundary

Acceptance: **Pressure ≥600 kPa; no visible leakage**

Procedure: Hydrostatic test at 600 kPa for 30 min; visual inspection for leakage. No pneumatic test in this scenario.

Initial result: 600 kPa. Retest: 600 kPa. Record: FAT-E03.

Initial evidence: 600 kPa held for 30 minutes. No visible leakage recorded; test instruments and boundary identification recorded.

Retest evidence: Pressure boundary retested after pump reassembly: 600 kPa for 30 minutes with no visible leakage. New fictional post-correction record replaces the initial test.

### FAT-04 / Leak detection response

Acceptance: **Alarm / interlock ≤2.0 s**

Procedure: Apply a controlled wet stimulus to the leak sensor; verify alarm and interlock time against recorded trace.

Initial result: 1.4 s. Retest: 1.4 s. Record: FAT-E04.

Initial evidence: 1.4 s from controlled wet stimulus to alarm and pump interlock. Reset sequence checked.

Retest evidence: Unchanged test evidence retained.

### FAT-05 / Duty / standby transition

Acceptance: **Interruption ≤5.0 s**

Procedure: Trip duty pump under supervised test conditions; verify standby start and interruption duration.

Initial result: 4.2 s. Retest: 4.2 s. Record: FAT-E05.

Initial evidence: Duty pump trip triggers standby start. Flow interruption 4.2 s; recovery trace and controller sequence logged.

Retest evidence: Unchanged test evidence retained.

### FAT-06 / Protective bonding

Acceptance: **Resistance ≤0.10 Ω**

Procedure: Record protective-earth continuity with a calibrated low-resistance tester. Test current: 10 A, fixture leads compensated.

Initial result: 0.06 Ω. Retest: 0.06 Ω. Record: FAT-E06.

Initial evidence: 0.06 Ω with compensated leads at 10 A. Synthetic instrument record valid for the test date.

Retest evidence: Unchanged test evidence retained.

### FAT-07 / Thermal duty demonstration

Acceptance: **≥0.98 MW (nominal 1 MW, −2% tolerance)**

Procedure: Apply synthetic thermal load; stabilize flow and inlet/outlet temperatures. Water-property approximation at 20 °C.

Initial result: 0.996 MW. Retest: 0.996 MW. Record: FAT-E07.

Initial evidence: Flow 1,440 L/min, ΔT 9.93 K, water density approximated as 1,000 kg/m³ and cp=4.18 kJ/(kg·K): calculated duty 0.996 MW. Synthetic load and measurements.

Retest evidence: Unchanged thermal evidence retained. This model does not qualify a real installation or fluid chemistry.

## Disposition and retest

Initial FAT-02 fails. D-01 requests acceptance at 195 kPa; the waiver is unavailable in this scenario. Reject the request, correct impeller configuration and review retest evidence. Retest replaces FAT-E01/FAT-E02/FAT-E03 and invalidates their prior reviews and P-01 closure. The pressure-boundary test is repeated after pump reassembly. Other retained records require explicit review within this fictional retest scope. A real modification requires an approved retest scope.

- **P-01 / Release-blocking**: Wrong pump impeller trim. Owner: Supplier engineering. Closure: Install approved trim, update assembly configuration record and pass witnessed retest FAT-02.
- **P-02 / Minor / controlled closeout**: Flow-meter identification label missing. Owner: Supplier production. Closure: Fit identification label and submit photo record. May carry conditional release with named owner and date.
- **P-03 / Release-blocking**: As-built document package incomplete. Owner: Supplier document control. Closure: Provide Rev B as-built P&ID, BOM, calibration index and test dossier.

## Acceptance / sign-off

HOLD until every numerical requirement, record review, release-blocking punch item and requested deviation disposition clears. Open minor P-02 permits CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE only with a named fictional owner/date. With all punch items closed, ACCEPTED. Every edit invalidates the simulated approval. No signature in this document authorizes real operation or shipment.

## Uncertainty and limitations

Every numerical limit is a synthetic teaching assumption, not an industry-wide acceptance criterion. A real project requires contract-specific criteria, approved procedures and qualified test/approval authority. Numerical comparisons are nominal rather than guard-banded. Repeatability, calibration uncertainty, ambient corrections, independent witness authority and qualitative record authenticity require separate review in a real project. All records here are invented and labeled; no photos or certificates are claimed.
